Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga : Along with the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, there are 21 other temples. Some of these shrines are for Parvati, Ganesha, Brahma, Kalabhairav, Hanuman, Saraswati, Surya, Ram-Lakshman-Janaki, Ganga, Kali, Annapurna, and Lakshmi-Narayan. The Maa Parvati temple is tied to the Shiva temple with red sacred threads.

Trikuta Parvata, collectively famous as Trikutachal, is a combination of three main peaks on the hill, which are at the height of around 2470 ft. Its around 10 km from Deoghar on the way to Dumka.

Naulakha Mandir is just 2 km from Baba Baidyanath temple. This has a similar architecture of Ramakrishna temple in Belur. The shrine encompasses the beautiful idols of Radha and Krishna.

Satsang Ashram is a holy place where the followers of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulachandra gather for worship. This Ashram also has a zoo and a museum in its complex.

Itinerary

Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga : The 5th Jyotirlinga is located in Deoghar, Jharkhand. Shri Baidyanath or Vaidyanath dham also known as Baba Baidyanath Dham, the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva.

Day 1
Arrive Deoghar Airport

Arrive Deogarh International Airport. Assistance and transfer to hotel. Visit Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Temple. Perform Puja archna and attend evening Aarti, if on time. Overnight stay.

Day 2
Deoghar - Baba Vaidyanath Temple (about 4 km)

Baba Baidyanath Jytirlinga Temple is among the 12 sacred jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. Also commonly known as Baidyanath Dham or Vaidyanath Dham. this temple houses idols of Lord Ganesha and goddess Parvati.

Prayer begins at 4 am with shodashopachar (sixteen services) and then devotees are allowed to worship the Lord. Legend has it that Ravana (king of Lanka) sacrificed his ten heads one by one to Lord Shiva and the lord descended on earth to heal Ravana’s injuries. Thus shiva is called ‘vaidhya’ meaning doctor or healer.

Also visit Basukinath Temple, one of the ancient temples in this area. The shrine is said to be the court of Baba Bolenath. The temples of Shiv and Parvati is located facing each other in Basukinath Temple. Both these temples open in the evening and is believed that Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati meet each other at this time. Also visit many other temples within the complex. Attend evening prayer. Return to hotel and overnight stay.

Day 3
Depart Deoghar

Morning free time till departure to Deoghat Airport. Check-out 1200 hrs.

Transfer to Deoghar Airport.
